Betting has always been part of the whole spectrum of sports. Almost every league has fans willing to gamble money to make viewing more exciting—and that includes the UFC.

The UFC continues to grow in popularity, with some observers even believing it could take over boxing as the biggest draw in fight sports. But of course, not everything is entirely peachy. Veteran UFC fighter Khalil Rountree Jr. revealed that he's gotten insane messages from angry gamblers when he loses a match (via Heavy).

“It’s caused me to kind of question myself, like, ‘Why do I even do this then?’ I started to realize that one or two fights, I can be disposable in a sense, even when it comes to gaining fans or gaining people’s interest. ‘I thought you were good in the Eryk Anders fight, but eh, I was wrong. I’ll never bet on you again.’ Or like, ‘You’re trash,’ all these things. It’s sickening.”

the 31-year-old Roundtree, who is coming off back-to-back defeats in the UFC, admitted he used to be distracted by them. But through the years, he's learned how to tune them out. Now, he just laughs them off.

“F*** yeah. I’m glad, I’m so glad that you did (lose on your bet). I hope that you feel the pain, it gets to a very dark place. Sometimes it’s annoying. Now I just don’t give a s***. Whether you bet or not, my main thing is to make sure that I do my best.”

Roundtree will get back on the Octagon on September 4 for UFC Fight Night, as he goes up against Modestas Bukauskas.
