If you landed here, you want to know about the Uncharted cast. Sure, everyone already knows about Tom Holland and Marky Mark Wahlberg, but what about other members of the crew? Anyway, while Uncharted reviews currently seem mixed, fans of action movies and/or the video game franchise are excited.
Let's get looking at the Uncharted cast.
Uncharted Cast
Tom Holland
Well, obviously. Your neighborhood friendly spider guy is branching out as late, delivering an absolutely jaw-dropping performance in The Devil All The Time. For my money, it was his best job as an actor, showcasing how he can excel outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nonetheless, it'll be interesting to see how Holland handles playing Nathan Drake. Due to the nature of the video games, which is inherently violent and Drake is forced to kill countless enemies, it'll be interesting to see how (or if) the movie adaptation changes Drake to become less… ugh… murdery.
Mark Wahlberg
For fans of the franchise, this was the most puzzling Uncharted cast decision made, as Marky Mark (minus his Funky Bunch) looks absolutely nothing like the character he is playing. Furthermore, when the video game franchise was originally up to be made into a film, Wahlberg was actually tabbed to play the main role. Obviously, now that he's a bit older in the tooth, he can't play guns-a-blazing Nate. As an aside, Marky Mark in Daddy's Home (and the sequel) is actually excellent.
Antonio Banderas
We're not even one generation fully removed from Antonio Banderas being both a sex icon and one of the more sought after actors in all of Hollywood. While his star faded a bit in terms of operating in ultra-mainstream limelight, Banderas has always been an underrated actor, who can shine if given the right roles.
Sophia Ali
Most likely best known to an audience unfamiliar with the video game franchise, Sophia Ali's biggest fanbase probably comes via her tenure on the forever-running drama Grey's Anatomy. Within the Uncharted Cast, Ali is tasked as playing Chloe Frazer, who didn't show up until the second installment in the video game franchise. Originally a tritagonist and a secondary love interest to Nathan Drake, Frazer eventually becomes a main protagonist in the video game franchise before trailing off by the fourth entry.
Tati Gabrielle
Another talent who won't likely be known to those in love with the video game franchise, Tati Gabrielle made (parts of her) bones starring on the CW hit show The 100. Snagged to play Jo Braddock in the film, as a fan of her work in general, I'm excited to see her flex her acting shops — provided some of the Uncharted reviews aren't so spot on that this is truly the ham-fest a few negative folk claim it to be.
Steven Waddington
A rather prolific actor even if you don't recognize the name, Steven Waddington is set to play The Scotsman; a rather lowkey important part to the Nathan Drake story. Speaking of important parts to Drake's story video game fans are hoping to see in the movie…
Rudy Pankow
Within the Uncharted cast, Rudy Pankow is set to play Drake's “long lost brother” Sam Drake. Plenty of Rudy Pankow's filmography is a bit all over the place, with his biggest role to date, outside of this film, is his still ongoing part in the Outer Banks Netflix series. It will be interesting to see how much screen time he gets next to Tom Holland.
elrubiusOMG aka El Rubius
A YouTuber known of his gaming plays and vlogs, the official Uncharted cast page lists him as a member of the crew; though it does not specify his role in the film. If forced to take a guess, he's likely only making a short cameo in the film.
Spoiler Actor
I will not spoil this for you. Instead, if you're looking to avoid any spoilers — which you can do by avoiding Uncharted reviews or Googling anything about the movie — I will just tip my cap to this specific casting. Obviously, you currently have no idea who I am talking about, but if all the rumors (and Google playing the role of spoiler) are true, this actor is arguably one of the tops of his generation and the (conjecture inbound on my end) role he is likely set to play would set up Uncharted to be a franchise more than a standalone film.
Obviously, all of this will depend on how it draws at the box-office and/or does on streaming platforms after its initial run.
While this isn't a comprehensive list of the Uncharted Cast, these are the top players and some of the better known actors. Here's to hoping the negative Uncharted reviews are hogwash, and we have ourselves a nifty and fun film franchise on our hands. As a fan of the video game franchise — and one who wants more of those (looking at you Mass Effect!) — the better movies like this do, the better for all of us. Heck, even Tom Holland who, in my opinion, is on a trajectory to be the next Leonardo DiCaprio; provided he remains picky with his roles.
