Riot Games' first official tournament, Valorant First Strike, will have its Brazil Regional Finals on-LAN. This is in spite of the on-going pandemic, as Brazil continues to wrestle with over 8,000 active cases.

The news came from Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends (CBLOL) commentator and Twitch streamer Guilherme “Tixinhadois” Cheida, who claimed he has first-hand information.

Tixinhadois claims that the Main Event of Valorant First Strike Brazil Regional Finals will be at the Riot Games Brasil Studios. The tweet translates:

“First-hand news. The Main Event of the #FirstStrike of @VALORANTBrasil December 3-6 will be PRESENTIAL (on-site) at Riot Games Brasil studios. Riot will use the entire prevention protocol that was also used in the CBLOL finals! Soon the announcement must be made <3 <3”

Tixinhadois also says that Riot claims they will be following all health guidelines required to hold the Main Event on-site. Riot successfully held an on-site event during the CBLOL finals last September. In response, the official Valorant account confirmed Tixinhadois' pronouncements.

If the boss spoke, it is spoken!🔥

We will have the VALORANT First Strike in LAN, straight from the Riot studios in São Paulo!

32 teams will compete in the Closed Qualifiers from November 13 to 15. The top eight teams will proceed to compete in the LAN finals. The tournament will have a total prize pool of R$200,000 (~$34,606 USD). The tournament coincides with the original tournament dates of ESL One: Rio 2020. ESL cancelled the event due to the pandemic situation.

Valorant First Strike is Riot Games' first major tournament for their new FPS title. Announced last September, First Strike will also crown champions from North America, Europe, CIS, Turkey, Korea, Japan, Asia Pacific, Oceania, Latin America, and MENA.
