A lot of new content and updates coincided with the release of DOTA: Dragon's Blood on Netflix. These range from a full-fledged tutorial mode to an entirely new system to ease in new and returning players alike. But the biggest news to come out of today's big update is the new Dota 2 hero that will be coming after the Singapore Major.

NEW DOTA 2 HERO COMING ON APRIL 9, 2021

It hasn't been so long since we received a new Dota 2 hero. We've just gotten Hoodwink from the Mistwood Update back in December. Hence, this will be the fastest turnaround of Valve in terms of receiving heroes. This April 9, 2021, in a major update coming right after the Singapore Major, Valve will be debuting a brand new Dota 2 hero. However, we have no clue who this new hero will be. Valve only left a cheeky news drop, not really expounding much on their announcement. “After that, we’re aiming for the Friday following the Singapore Major as the day the next update ships,” their blog post announced. “The 7.29 update will include the next hero as well as a balance-focused gameplay update.”

Meanwhile, speculations are running wild on who this new Dota 2 hero will be. Folks at the Dota 2 subreddit are already putting forward their various theories. Many point to the recently-released DOTA: Dragon's Blood for clues, saying that the goddess Selemene, Mirana's mute aide, Marci, and the stealthy elf Fymryn as likely candidates. However, we will never know for sure unless leaks come out soon. Knowing Valve, there won't be any, so we're only left to speculate who this new hero will be. No one expected a hero like Hoodwink, while people speculated that a character introduced in Artifact will come over to Dota 2. All we can do now is enjoy the Singapore Major and wait for this massive update.
