While this year’s Golden State Warriors may be playing in a different era than the Michael Jordan-led 1996 Chicago Bulls squad, many have already been comparing them, especially with the postseason dominance the Bay Area team has displayed so far.

ESPN even went as far as speaking with six different Las Vegas oddsmakers to find out the hypothetical odds they would have if both teams met in the Finals. Surprisingly, majority of them favored the Dubs and even gave them a -3 to -8 margin to cover in the spread.

Only one sportsbook director, Chris Andrews from South Point, though it would be too close for one of them to be considered a favorite. For CG Analytics COO Matthew Holt, it will also depend on the set of rules used as there have already been significant changes from two decades ago, via Ben Fawkes of ESPN.

“The biggest factor is what rules is game being played under. Being able to hand check would make the Bulls favorite and their roster was built for that. In the no-hand check era the Warriors' current roster is much better suited and would have some serious speed and shooter advantages at several key positions.”

It would have been a treat for basketball fans to see both teams go up against each other. However, it only leaves a lot to the imagination, sparking debates on who is the better squad. There are some great points to consider why the Bulls are the better team, but for now, the Warriors should win the Finals first, in order to give the ultimate legitimacy to the conversation.

The good news for Warriors fans though, is that they are now only two games away from it, after their convincing victory in Game 2.
