For those out there wondering how former San Antonio Spurs big man and NBA champion Boris Diaw is doing, he’s just fine. The 35-year-old Frenchman is currently playing with Levallois Metropolitan of the French LNB Pro A league, and he gave his new team the most dramatic win imaginable as he sank a game-winning three-pointer from halfcourt.

Diaw and co. looked destined for overtime after their opponents, Bourg-en-Bresse, hit a clutch game-tying three-pointer with just one second left, sending a partisan crowd into euphoria. However, after slumping his shoulders for a second, Diaw alertly made himself available for the inbounds pass to attempt a last-ditch, halfcourt prayer.

Little did Diaw know that his prayer would be answered as his heave rattled in for the game-winning basket. And in classic Diaw fashion, he celebrated his unbelievable feat with a simple fist pump and a chest bump before getting mobbed by his delirious teammates.

It must’ve been a sheer roller coaster of emotions for Bourg-en-Bresse and their fans, who were still feeling the ecstasy of the game-tying bucket before Diaw’s dagger broke their hearts.

Diaw finished the game with 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Just like that last-second game-winner, maybe it’s not yet too late for Diaw to give it one more go in the NBA.
