Digging themselves into a hole after missing their first 12 shots of the game and scoring just nine points in the first quarter, the Bulls were just dominated by the Celtics, losing 100-80. Chicago did play better in the second half but there were just dreadful in the first.
The Bulls shot 11 of 43 (25.6 percent) and a dismal 2 of 11 from three (18.2 percent) in the first half. Chicago also turned the ball over 10 times, which led to 14 of Boston’s 46 first half points. Boston led by as many as 25 points and with Chicago’s lackadaisical effort, this game was basically over by the end of the second quarter.
Things got so embarrassingly bad for the Bulls that the Celtics’ stars like Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder didn’t even have to play in the fourth quarter. And with the game out of hand and perhaps just simply bored on the bench, Thomas and several members of the Celtics decided to do the wave with the rest of TD Garden.

It should be noted that this wasn’t during a timeout or a break in play. This was during actual game play as the Celtics were so bored that they were paying more attention to their fans than what was happening on the court.
And while you may think this is disrespectful or a clear cut example of poor sportsmanship, Boston was up by double digits at this point and the game was basically over, so let the Celtics have some fun. Plus, it’s not like the Bulls was giving the Celtics any reason to stay interested in the game.
