After Dwyane Wade announced he was signing with his hometown Chicago Bulls team, Pat Riley sent a text to a reporter for the Miami Herald about the star's departure. As Colin Cowherd reads and breakdowns the text on his The Herd show, he compares it to breaking up with a person you don't want be with.

Anyone that hears Cowherd break it down would be inclined to agree that D-Wade did Riley the favor of ending the relationship, which helped the Heat avoid what happened toward the end of the Kobe Bryant era for the Lakers where they're legend essentially handicapped their future. Trying to get players to help get them one more ring before he retires.

As Cowherd suggests:

“That's not the letter you send when she breaks your heart… (Riley) wanted out of this and Dwyane Wade did him a favor.”
