The actual altercation left even the announcers confused as Booker's immediate reason for drawing the technicals wasn't too clear. Everything happened to suddenly, with the getting tossed without the broadcast even catching what happened. But thanks to the innovation known as instant replay, the actual cause of the Suns All-Star's ejection was made clear.

Devin Booker took exception to a foul call in favor of LeBron James. After expressing his rather serious disagreement with the call, he may have said some unsavory words to the official. After getting hit with his first technical, the Suns All-Star rather lightly nudged the ball towards Mark Davis. But surprisingly, this drew him yet another technical which forced him out of the game.

It's unfortunate for fans from both sides as the game was shaping up to be a playoff-level contest. The Suns and Lakers are within shouting distance from each other in the standings, and may very well meet come postseason. Booker himself was having a strong night for Phoenix, with 17 points, three rebounds, and six assists early in the 3rd quarter before his untimely removal from the game.
