Utah Jazz rookie shooting guard Grayson Allen has always been known as a bucket-getter. What most casual NBA fans probably don’t know is that the former Duke Blue Devils star can also sky high. But at least some of them will no longer underestimate Allen’s pogo sticks after seeing the first-year pro manufacture this highlight play late in Monday night’s home game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The meeting with Memphis was also Allen’s first game in an NBA regular season contest, so that throwdown he just laid on the rim was something he’ll remember for a very long time. That said, he’s probably going to forget the game’s outcome, as the Jazz fell prey to the Grizzlies to the tune of a 94-82 score.

Grayson Allen put up seven points on 2-for-2 shooting from the field with a free throw in only 11 minutes of action.

Selected 21st overall in this year’s NBA Draft by Utah, Allen has yet to get regular minutes as a member of the Jazz. It’s going to be difficult for him to find ample playing time, as he’s playing the same position as hotshot shooting guard Donovan Mitchell, but he can carve out a crucial role as part of the Jazz’s second unit.

Allen and the 1-2 Jazz will look to get back to .500 this Friday when they hit the road to play the Houston Rockets.
