The Lakers have only one direction to go next year – up.

By all accounts, they will move in that direction with Luke Walton taking over the team. He seems to think D'Angelo Russell had a great summer of improvement, Larry Nance Jr. sure thinks he will be a big-time player sooner rather than later and that the team will surprise everyone next season, and now Jordan Clarkson is upping his game as well.

After Clarkson's recent four-year, $50 million extension, he is locking in for the summer by putting in extra work on his long-range jump shot.

Last season, Clarkson shot a solid clip of 35-percent from three-point range. With Walton as the new coach, having just come from the three-point dominant Warriors, it's likely that Clarkson and the Lakers will transition to heavier use of the long ball.

If Clarkson can raise his percentage even further it would give the Lakers a legitimate sharp-shooting threat from deep. Maybe Nance was right after all and the Lakers will be better than expected next season.
