DeMar DeRozan played like he’s not from this world Tuesday. Against a Washington Wizards team eager to bounce back from a loss in the series opener, the Toronto Raptors leaned on their superstar, who then delivered a monster game to pull the Raps to a 130-119 win. DeRozan was just in the zone in this game, scoring 37 points on 14-for-23 shooting from the field with three 3-pointers.

Following the game, DeMar DeRozan and teammate Kyle Lowry fielded questions during the customary postgame presser, and when the latter was asked whether the game looked slow to him, thus his incredible performance, DeRozan knew of only one way to answer that question: he compared himself to The Matrix’s Neo.

Lowry definitely found DeRozan’s self-comparison to Neo hilarious, but no one from the Raptors camp is laughing at Lowry’s pathetic shooting line of 3-for-10 from the field in Game 2 to end up with 13 points.

It’s a good thing DeRozan did not refer to himself as The Matrix, a nickname long attached to retired NBA forward Shawn Marion.

The Wizards will come into Game 3 pumped up, especially that it’s their first time to host a contest in this series, but with the way DeRozan played in Game 2, they probably need to send tougher defenders to cover the Raptors swingman, who seems to have successfully hacked Washington’s defense.
