Boston Celtics fans just witnessed something on Thursday that probably felt like a nightmare, as they watched their former point guard, Rajon Rondo, hit a game-winner as a member of the rival Los Angeles Lakers at the TD Garden.

The Lakers were down one when Rajon Rondo hit a mid range jump shot to help Los Angeles improve to 28-27 on the season.

Brandon Ingram missed a layup, but the Celtics couldn't get the rebound and the ball seemingly gravitated to Rondo, who hit the clutch shot at the buzzer.

Rajon Rondo finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists on Thursday in 35 minutes of action while shooting 7-of-11 from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Rondo, of course, spent the first nine years of his NBA career with the Celtics. He was a four-time All-Star and the floor general of the Boston team which won the 2009 championship against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.

You really couldn't script this any better for Rajon Rondo, who is still loved by the fans in Boston. Phoenix Suns shooting guard Jamal Crawford thinks this game winner will be Rondo's most memorable one considering he was back in Boston.

This was a huge win for the Lakers, who got blown out by the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. LA didn't get Anthony Davis, but it doesn't matter, because they have Rondo.
