LeBron James is one of the best basketball players in the history of life on this planet. Cameron Reddish is a 5-star prospect out of the 2018 recruiting class who recently committed to the Duke Blue Devils. The two are, apparently, friendly.

In that video by TMZ, you will notice the person asking the questions is only focusing on LeBron James. That makes sense, as he's the most known athlete in the United States. That person, however, probably has no idea who in the hell Cameron Reddish even is.

Before people go bonkers, this isn't some sort of recruiting violation or something that will cost the future Duke star time on the hardwood. There's no rule in place that states LeBron James can't befriend people who go to college. If there was, that would be a really weird rule.

If you wanted to be a bit cynical about all of this, there are some issues one can take umbrage with. Mainly, that James has friends who run sports agencies — hello, Rich Paul — and this could be considered the workaround of NCAA rules for whatever agency James is representing to get their hands on Cameron Reddish.

Maybe that it is. Maybe. But honestly, who cares? People who get their panties in a bunch over an unpaid laborer looking toward their future in a way that can maximize their earning potential are lame.

Let kids get rich. Furthermore, if the NCAA won't allow it, at least let these kids get their ducks in a row while trotting about collegiate hardwoods without making a cent of their own name.
