Video: Patriots RB Sony Michel scores early TD vs. Chiefs
If you can believe it, the New England Patriots are already on the board. Before the NFC Champions Los Angeles Rams could even finish celebrating the team’s win over the New Orleans Saints on FOX, the heralded Patriots were busy getting things started in a big way over on CBS.
Taking a very early 7-0 lead over the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday evening, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady helped lead his team to an immediate 15-play, 80-yard scoring drive to begin the affair. Despite Brady leading the way per usual, rookie running back Sony Michel was the one who ultimately punched it in for six as the Patriots are looking to upset the Chiefs on the road at Arrowhead Stadium.
Fresh off a three-score performance from a week ago against the Los Angeles Chargers, Michel is already up to his old tricks again as he has now notched four touchdowns in his last five quarters. This one was an easy mission for the first-year rusher out of Georgia, though, as Michel made his way across the goal line and into the end zone from inside the one-yard line.

Even though the Patriots have served as the best team in football on a regular basis over the course of the last two decades, the Chiefs entered this year’s AFC Championship Game as three-point favorites. However, it is hard to imagine the aforementioned Brady and the Patriots as underdogs in any capacity while the team’s first drive of the game certainly showed everyone why that notion still holds true today.
