Video: Pistons’ Blake Griffin throws down the hammer off pass from Raptors’ Kyle Lowry
The 2019 NBA All-Star Game is currently approaching halftime with both teams letting it fly early on. With three-point attempts aplenty highlighting the first half thus far, there have also been a slew of creative and downright thunderous dunks as well. One of those thunderous slams came by way of a Kyle Lowry pass to Detroit Pistons power forward Blake Griffin, who managed to throw it down with some real authority.
Thanks to a perfect lob pass from the Toronto Raptors point guard in Lowry, Griffin was able to show off his skills in mid-air en route to some serious hangtime.

However, such versatility shouldn’t come as much of a surprise as Griffin has continued to carry a hefty workload for the Pistons this season.
“His skillset has expanded,” Pistons head coach Dwane Casey said ahead of this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend, via SB Nation. “Now he’s more of a point power forward, if there’s such a term in the new NBA, shooting the three, running the pick-and-roll. He’s expanded his game to another level. He’s carried a heavy load for us this year.”
The soon-to-be 30-year-old Griffin is currently in the midst of his first full season as a member of the Pistons. Prior to being traded to the Pistons midway through last season, the former No. 1 overall draft pick out of Oklahoma had spent his entire NBA career as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. Griffin notably went on to spend a total of 6.5 seasons in Los Angeles before making his way to Detroit.
