Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is one of the most dominant big men in today's NBA. Simply put, he's a force to be reckoned with on the low block. However, the Cameroonian national has also been in the gym practicing a few trick shots at range with Sixers co-owner Michael Rubin.

With Rubin filming, Embiid stood at the half-court line to gauge his shot. This was no ordinary half-court shot, though. Embiid turned his body towards the opposite hoop, then casually lofted a one-handed shot over his shoulder.

Embiid's shot went in on the first attempt:

After seeing Embiid's shot go in with relative ease, Rubin decided to give it a go. Though his form was a bit different (a reverse granny shot), Rubin managed to hit the mark:

The Sixers will be looking to make a lot of noise in the Eastern Conference this season, and Embiid will likely play a big role in that process.

In his 63 appearances with the Sixers during their 2017-18 regular-season campaign, Embiid racked up averages of 22.9 points on 48.3 percent shooting from the field (30.8 percent from beyond the arc), 11.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 blocks in 30.8 minutes per outing.

If early impressions are a sign of what's to come, then Sixers fans should be happy with the way Embiid played in the preseason. He scored 20 or more points in all of Philly's exhibition games, and in Monday's preseason loss to the Dallas Mavericks, the former No. 3 overall pick racked up 29 points on 11-of-22 shooting, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 28 minutes of action.

The Sixers will kick off the 2018-19 regular season on Oct. 16 with a matchup against the Boston Celtics. Tip-off inside TD Garden is set for 8:00 p.m. ET with TNT having live broadcast coverage.
