Stephen Curry seemed destined to have an off night against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, as he went scoreless in the first quarter and had only five points by the end of the half, an uncharacteristic 2-of-9 shooting from the floor.

Curry bounced back in the second half by scoring eight points within a 1:08 span and finished with 23 points in the third quarter, outscoring the Blazers (20 points in the quarter) all by himself, including a scorching-hot 5-of-6 from deep.

Take a look at the highlights here.

While Curry surged, Damian Lillard struggled, stifled by the defense of Ian Clark, who had a perfect night with a career-high 22 points off the bench, as Draymond Green applauded his defensive performance over Lillard, per his recent comments.

The back-to-back MVP hit 8-of-11 from the floor in the third, including two three-point plays that helped the Golden State Warriors stretch the lead to 23.

“I've never seen anybody quite like him who can turn it on that quickly and turn a horrible game into a brilliant game,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters postgame. “That's what makes Steph who he is.”

“I told him he looked like Riley Curry in the first half and Steph Curry in the second half,” Kerr said about his postgame chat with his point guard. Curry's daughter, Riley, is four years old.

The Warriors outscored the Blazers 41-20 in the third, and with the score 100-73 by the end of the quarter, it wasn't long before coach Terry Stotts put his starters to rest.
