The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Utah Jazz faced off at the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Friday. Wolves rookie guard Josh Okogie brought down the entire house with a nasty slam on both Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert.

The Jazz ended up on top with a score of 106-102. They had four starters and five people overall in double digits. Mitchell had 24 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists to lead the way for Utah. Gobert had 18 points and 16 rebounds. Derrick Favors scored 13, while Joe Ingles had 12. Off the bench, Kyle Korver scored 16 and grabbed five boards to go with four threes.

Only three starters scored in double digits for the Timberwolves. Karl-Anthony Towns had 33 points with 10 rebounds and four assists. Andrew Wiggins had 21 points and 11 rebounds, but only shot eight of 26 from the field. Jarryd Bayles had 11 points, eight rebounds, and five assists as well. The Jazz's defense was just too much for the Wolves to handle.

The Jazz this past season started out slow. It seemed as if Mitchell was in the midst of a sophomore slump, and the team seemingly couldn't create offense. However, this month everything seemed to click. Mitchell returned to his old self and Korver provided much-needed spacing off the bench.

The Jazz are now 28-22 on the season and sit at the 6th seed in the NBA's Western Conference.

For the Wolves, they went through a coaching change midway through the season. After trading away Jimmy Butler, the team let go of Tom Thibodeau. Ryan Saunders is now the team's head coach but not much has changed. The team needs to rethink their identity moving forward.

The Wolves are now 24-25 and sit in the 10th seed of the NBA's Western Conference.
