Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen officially has a new running mate as his former teammate in wide receiver Stefon Diggs is now a member of the Buffalo Bills thanks to an offseason trade from a few months back. However, the Vikings didn't wait long to replace Diggs as Minnesota notably selected former LSU Tigers wideout Justin Jefferson in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

With a soon-to-be rookie in Jefferson slated to serve as a key piece of the puzzle for the Vikings offense in 2020-21, Thielen is more than ready to become a mentor to the former LSU standout.

“I’m excited honestly to get in the same room with [Jefferson] when this is all over with and get on the field and just try to help out where I can,” Thielen recently told The Star Tribune. “I really enjoy that part of the game, teaching, coaching and helping guys understand the game a little bit better. I was telling someone the other day that that stuff actually helps me, when I’m talking, when I’m coaching, when I’m teaching, I’m actually really talking to myself. I get better that way and excited again.

“We have a lot of young talent in that room, and it’s just a really cool opportunity for me to be able to help out.”

The Vikings were a playoff team with the aforementioned Diggs flanking Thielen while much of Minnesota's core has remained intact. However, it remains to be seen as to whether or not the Vikings can return to the postseason in the absence of Diggs.
