The Minnesota Vikings are slated to host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6. Unfortunately, it appears wide receiver Adam Thielen has suffered a setback.

Thielen was among the notable players missing from practice. According to Mark Craig of the Star Tribune, he is currently dealing with a sickness at home:

According to sources, Vikings receiver Adam Thielen is home sick, will not be coming to TCO Performance Center and has been excused by the team from this afternoon’s practice.

The timing of Thielen's sickness is hardly ideal. Minnesota is coming off a crucial week in which they managed to get back on track with a dominant win over the New York Giants. They are hoping for an extended stay in the win column this time around and will need to be at full strength to do it.

The 2019 NFL season had seemingly taken a tumultuous turn in recent weeks due to the issues on offense. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs had openly acknowledged his name being tied to trade rumors while Thielen had criticized the underwhelming play of quarterback Kirk Cousins. Fortunately, they were seemingly able to work through that phase to get back on track.

It remains to be seen whether or not Thielen's illness will ultimately have an effect on his status for Week 6. The prospect of the Pro Bowl wideout having to miss would undoubtedly deal a crushing blow to the receiving corps and the passing game as a whole. It is safe to say that the Vikings are taking every precaution that they can to ensure he is ready by game time.
