The Minnesota Vikings take on the Washington Redskins on Thursday Night Football and Adam Thielen is ‘lobbying' to be able to play.

Thielen suffered a hamstring injury during the Vikings' 42-30 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 7. He has not been able to participate in practice all week but hasn't been ruled out officially yet and remains ‘optimistic' that he will play.

“I’m hoping so,” Thielen told Dave Lee of WCCO. “It’s a short week, so I’m doing everything I can and the training staff is doing everything they can to help me get there. The good thing is still have another day, a full day, to recover so we’ll see.”

During the radio interview, Thielen mentioned that he is ‘trying to relax' and that he is ‘probably pushing them too hard' in his efforts of trying to play against the Redskins.

“I think they’re sick of me by now,” he said. “I’m trying to relax today on that because I am probably pushing them too hard.”

Regardless of the decision that the Vikings make regarding Thielen's status for Thursday's game, he trusts the people in charge of making the call.

“I am not sure exactly who makes the call, but I trust them to make the right one for this team and for me,” he said.

If Thielen is unable to play this week, he will have about a week and a half until the Vikings play their next game. Their following matchup is against the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 3 at Arrowhead Stadium.
