There had been plenty of noise surrounding the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. Fortunately, quarterback Kirk Cousins was able to make amends with wide receiver Adam Thielen by finding him early and often against the New York Giants.

The headlines all week had been focused on Thielen's criticisms of Cousins play under center. According to Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press, he is proud of the way this team answered back:

“I’m pretty proud of the guys in this locker room and the way that responded, the way Kirk responded in just going out there and playing a really good football game,” Thielen said.

There is no question that Thielen's mod can be attributed to the monster outing he enjoyed against New York after finishing with seven receptions for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns. More importantly, they were able to secure a dominant 28-10 victory to get the 2019 NFL season back on track.

It is safe to say that it has been a tumultuous week for the Vikings. Fortunately, their win appears to have already had some positive effects on the overall demeanor in the locker. Not only was Cousins able to make it up to Thielen, but it appears wide receiver Stefon Diggs is also hoping to stay in it for the long haul as well after he openly acknowledged that the trade rumors surrounding him were true.

The win against the Giants could very well serve as a turning point for Minnesota. Regardless, it will be interesting to see if Thielen is this patient next time things on offense start to go south.
