The Minnesota Vikings are looking to get back into the Win Column against the Detroit Lions in Week 14. It seems they are holding out hope for wide receiver Adam Thielen to make his return.

Thielen has been dealing with the lingering hamstring injury since Week 7 of the 2019 NFL season. He is currently listed as doubtful for the home-stand versus the Lions, via the team's official Twitter:

Thielen's status is hardly an encouraging sign for this week's NFC North matchup in Minnesota. Coincidentally, it was in Detroit where he initially suffered the injury.

Although their hesitance to rule Thielen out indicates that he is potentially nearing a return, they may ultimately opt to take a cautious approach. He had attempted to make his return in Week 9 against the Kansas city chiefs, however, he lasted a mere six snaps before calling it a game. The last thing Minnesota needs is for him to come back before he is 100 percent and suffer yet another setback.

There is no question that Thielen's injury has left a rather notable void in the receiving corps for quarterback Kirk Cousins. He had been in the midst of another Pro Bowl year with 27 receptions for 391 yards and six touchdowns prior to the injury. His absence has never been more felt than in this final stretch of the 2019 NFL season while trying to secure a playoff spot.

The Vikings will need to do what they can to win out if they hope to stay in control of their playoff destiny. It remains to be seen whether or not Thielen will be available to help them out.
