There is no question Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen established himself as one of the best pass-catchers in the league. Needless to say, he has come a long way from signing with the team as an undrafted free agent.

One of his biggest obstacles early on was trying to look the part of an NFL wide receiver by gaining weight. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Thielen's trainer has now switched up his approach this offseason:

After years of bulking up, Vikings WR Adam Thielen’s trainer told him to stay off the scale following his breakout season. Now it’s all about being the best athlete possible (and lots of recovery.)

It goes without saying that Thielen's NFL career got off to a slow start. However, he emerged as Minnesota's top option in the passing game during his breakout 2016 campaign.

Needless to say, he managed to solidify that notion with a stellar 2017 NFL season. Thielen hauled in 91 receptions for 1,276 yards and four touchdowns en route to his first Pro Bowl as well as a second-team All-Pro selection. Despite posting back-to-back impressive seasons, little has been said about his status amongst the league's best receivers.

As a result, it appears he is now looking to fine-tune his skill set going into the 2018 NFL season. There is good reason to believe he can follow up with another great year thanks to the addition of Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins this offseason. That said, he and wide receiver Stefon Diggs are looking forward to maintaining their reputation as one of the league's best 1-2 punches.
