Minnesota Vikings defensive back Andrew Sendejo is out for the rest of the season. Almost two months after he suffered a groin injury, the Vikings placed him on the injured reserve list Tuesday, per Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.

Sendejo has not played in six weeks due to the injury, but he practiced with the team in Week 9. He was listed on the team's official roster for their game that week against the Lions, but did not take the field.

The 6-4-1 Vikings' defense has been dealing with injuries lately. Linebacker Anthony Barr (hamstring), defensive end Everson Griffen (toe), and cornerback Xavier Rhodes (hamstring) are listed as well on their injury report.

Sendejo's removal from the main roster opened the door for rookie cornerback Roger Craig to make his way to the 53-man team. Another cornerback, Jalen Myrick, also made his way to the main roster after Rhodes' injury.

Being with the team since 2011, Sendejo is one of the longest-tenured members of the Vikings currently on their roster. He has played 95 games for the team and registered 356 total tackles, six interceptions, and 17 passes defended in Minnesota.

This season, Andrew Sendejo was the starting safety for the Vikings in their first five games before he went down in Week 5 in their 23-21 win against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Vikings recently solidified their bid for the playoffs with a huge Sunday night win at home against the Green Bay Packers. Minnesota currently holds the No. 5 spot in the NFC and is trying to catch the Chicago Bears in the NFC North.
