Minnesota Vikings safety Anthony Harris is one of the top prizes in free agency. That's good news for him as he could be in store for a pretty sizable contract.

Due to that, you'd imagine Harris might want to test the waters and see what other teams might offer him. It appears that is indeed what the safety wants to do. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Harris stated that he loves Minnesota, but is keeping his options open at the moment.

This obviously makes a lot of sense. Harris went undrafted back in 2015, so he hasn't exactly been getting massive contracts, and now he's coming off of a career year.

In 2019, the safety racked up career-highs in tackles (60), pass deflections (11), interceptions (6), and had his first ever defensive touchdown. That's a star-making season right there. And it's one he would be smart to capitalize on.

The way he's talking should be seen as positive for Vikings fans that want him back. Expressing his love for Minnesota but “keeping his options open” might not sound all that promising. However, it could be looked at in a very promising way.

That could be interpreted as the Vikings getting the first shot. As long as Minnesota does not shortchange him too much, Harris could return.

Basically, it sounds like he wants to see if any team would offer him that much more than the Vikings. However, if the Vikings keep it close enough, there is no reason to believe he wouldn't return to the team that he knows he can succeed on.

Wherever Harris goes, one thing is certain, he's about to be paid this offseason.
