The Minnesota Vikings suffered an embarrassing loss at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night. The game  helped solidify Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd's theory on quarterback Kirk Cousins.

It is no secret that Cousins has struggled on the big stage throughout his career. Cowherd insists that his lackluster performance in Week 14 was further proof of it, via The Herd's Twitter:

“Last night was classic Kirk Cousins. He lost the game in primetime and ends up with garbage yards at the end.”

Cowherd's comments may be considered a bit harsh. Regardless, there is still a certain sense of truth to them. Cousins struggled mightily against Seattle's defense after completing just 20-of-33 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown. The majority of his production came late with the game out of reach.

This is not the first time Cousins has struggled on the big stage. Cowherd backed up his statements by digging up his record in big games. He has accumulated a 4-13 in primetime and is just 4-24 vs. teams over .500. It is clear he has largely failed to come through for his teams when it matters most.

Despite his inability to win the big games, Cousins has still managed to do pretty well for himself. He signed a lucrative three-year, $84 million deal with Minnesota this offseason. Since the Vikings are essentially stuck with him, they have had to make significant changes elsewhere which has resulted in the firing of offensive coordinator John DeFilippo. They are going to have to find a way to make it work for the next two years after this season.
