Beyond the arrival of Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins this offseason through free agency, there has been plenty of buzz and excitement toward the backfield.

The Vikings have spoken quite highly of second-year running back Dalvin Cook heading into what will be his first full year in the league. However, Cook has also embraced the dynamic duo that he and Latavius Murray could form in 2018 that has led to them coming up with a catchphrase, according to Chris Tomasson of The Pioneer Press.

Cook and Murray figure that will be the case, so they’ve adopted “one-two” as a catch phrase.

“I think this thing got started as soon as I got back,” said Cook, who began training camp at full speed last month after recovering from a season-ending torn left ACL last October.

The two looked to have quickly embraced the potential of them becoming a dynamic duo in the backfield for the Vikings next season. Cook is expected to handle the starting duties given what he has shown in his brief time with the team, but Murray will factor significantly into the equation as well.

With the Florida State product out of the lineup last year, Murray provided much stability to the running game as he tallied up 842 rushing yards with eight touchdowns. This included a pair of 100-yard performances while topping at least 60 rushing yards eight times. Meanwhile, Cook did put on display his vast potential in his time on the field in his rookie campaign prior to the ACL tear as he had 354 rushing yards with two touchdowns in essentially 3 1/2 games of action.

The combination of these two running back should be a focal point in the offensive game plan while providing much-needed balance with what could be a team that may have an opportunity in front of them to contend for a Super Bowl in 2018.
