The Minnesota Vikings defeated the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon while the NFC North franchise encountered quite a bit of controversy throughout the week leading up to its Week 5 matchup in East Rutherford, New Jersey. With quarterback Kirk Cousins in addition to wide receivers Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs all voicing some displeasure with the team's offensive attack this week, it came as somewhat of a surprise that the Vikings performed so well despite taking on a lowly team in the Giants.

The Vikings defeated the Giants by the score of 28-10 with Minnesota running back Dalvin Cook also playing a massive role in the team's latest win. As a result, Cook believes that a week's worth of controversy actually brought the team together ahead of the Vikings matchup against the Giants.

“Guys rallied around each other,” Cook previously told NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk. “We all knew it. You can’t run from the noise.”

With the aforementioned Diggs at the forefront of the unhappiness in Minnesota, so it appeared, it remained to be seen as to whether the veteran pass-catcher would even suit up for the Vikings on Sunday afternoon. With Diggs ultimately playing and playing well at that, it seems as though he will remain with the Vikings going forward.

“That’s the same Stefon,” Cook told reporters of Diggs after Sunday's victory, via NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk.

Diggs also told reporters that he wants to stay with the Vikings going forward after Sunday's victory over the Giants.
