The Minnesota Vikings are expected to have starting running back Dalvin Cook back in the lineup for their matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

However, Cook is still not completely back to 100 percent from his recent hamstring injury, which is why he is set to play only around half of the team’s offensive snaps.

Cook injured his hamstring in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers. After missing Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills, he returned for their following game against the Los Angeles Rams. However, he was clearly ineffective as he rushed for just 20 yards on 10 carries.

He also missed the Vikings’ most recent outing against the Philadelphia Eagles. Latavius Murray had 42 yards on 11 carries in place of Cook as the Vikings got the 23-21 win.

In the three games he's played this season, Cook has 36 carries for 98 yards. The Vikings have unsurprisingly struggled to produce a consistent rushing attack this season with Cook out injured. They’re currently third from bottom in the entire league with just 329 rushing yards. They’re also the only team that’s yet to score a rushing touchdown.

It remains to be seen how effective Cook can be in limited snaps. Either way, Murray will continue to share the workload with Cook.

The Vikings will have a decent shot at jumpstarting their rushing attack against a Cardinals defense which has struggled against the run this season. Arizona has given up the third-most rushing yards this season with 712 along with eight rushing touchdowns, which is tied for the most in the league.
