Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook will miss the last two games of the 2019 NFL regular season, but fortunately for the NFC wild card team, the third-year rusher should be available in the Vikings' forthcoming playoff game.

Per The Athletic's Chad Graff, the 24-year-old Cook is out again against the Chicago Bears on Sunday in the Week 17 regular season finale, but he is “planning” on playing in next week's Wild Card round. Cook is dealing with chest and shoulder injuries, which sidelined him in last week's home loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Dalvin Cook is having a fantastic third professional season with the Vikings after Minnesota selected the Florida State product in the second round of the 2017 draft. With his 2019 season officially over, Cook finishes with over 1,100 rushing yards on 250 carries for 13 touchdowns.

The Vikings' wild card matchup is still unknown pending the results from the NFL's Week 17 slate of games. With Minnesota locked at the sixth seed, they'll play the third seed—which is still down to three teams: the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, or NFC North division rival Packers.

Minnesota lost both regular-season contests to Green Bay in 2019, so the Vikings may be hoping for a different opponent, although they'll be no lack for intimidating matchup.

The 49ers and Seahawks play on “Sunday Night Football” tonight to decide the winner of the NFC West. The Saints feature one of the highest-octane offenses in the NFL, with veteran quarterback Drew Brees recently breaking Peyton Manning's all-time career passing touchdown records and wide receiver Michael Thomas surpassing Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison's single-season receptions achievement.
