Since tearing his ACL last September, Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook has continued to make significant progress in his rehab from the injury.

Cook has continued to clear every significant hurdle in the recovery process that has the team quite optimistic that he will be ready to go by the season opener. According to Andrew Krammer of The Star Tribune, Cook has voiced that he is ready for the challenges that lie ahead of him in the 2018 campaign.

The Vikings are counting on Cook to play a major factor in the backfield as their clear-cut starter next season. He is looking to build off his promising start to his rookie year where he had recorded 354 rushing yards while hauling in 11 catches for 90 receiving yards through the first month of the season. Cook will be a primary fixture in both the running and passing game due to his versatility as a capable runner and receiver out of the backfield.

What has been most promising about the entire situation is that he hasn't experienced any setback along the way while remaining ahead of schedule in his recovery. He is dealing with an injury that typically takes between nine months to a year to fully recover from. There has been no reason for concern from the Vikings' end of things in any manner with growing expectation that he will take the field for Week 1 action against the San Francisco 49ers.

Cook has in front of him a chance to establish himself as one of the young promising running backs in the league that could quickly develop into Pro Bowl talent at his position in Minnesota for years to come.
