Dalvin Cook has been having one hell of a month. He's been one of the best running backs in the league, but the Minnesota Vikings stalwart is dealing with some legal issues off of the field. Now, it seems like he has taken measures to try and resolve these issues once and for all.

According to StarTribune, Dalvin Cook has filed a counter-lawsuit against Gracelyn Trimble, Cook's former partner and accuser. The Vikings RB says in the lawsuit that Trimble lied about the events, and was in fact the aggressor in that scenario. Cook accused Trimble of multiple cases, including “defamation, fraud, invasion of privacy, abuse of process, malicious prosecution, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress.”

The allegations against Dalvin Cook came out in early November, when Trimble accused the Vikings RB of assault during an argument. He reportedly smashed her head against the table during an argument in 2020. Cook responded by claiming that it was him who was the victim of domestic abuse, and that Trimble was trying to extort him for money. He confidently said:

“I just want everybody to know that I’m the victim in this situation. The truth will come out at a further time.”

In response to the Vikings player's lawsuit, Trimble's lawyer Daniel Cragg was furious:

Cragg called the action “completely frivolous,” saying the aim is to muzzle Trimble so Cook can continue to play. “The message here is she shouldn't tell her story and she shouldn't talk,”

Hopefully, the truth comes to light soon, and that those who were actually hurt get justice served. The court date for the hearing is set a few days after the Vikings' final regular season game.
