Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook has had a rough time finding his footing in the 2018 NFL season due to a hamstring injury. Fortunately, it appears he will be good to go moving forward.

Cook has dealt with a lingering hamstring throughout the season. According to ESPN's Courtney Cronin, offensive coordinator John DeFilippo is confident that he will be able to resume his role as the lead back:

John DeFilippo said Dalvin Cook is full go going forward. Cook was not on the injury report on Wednesday for the first time since Week 3.

This is certainly encouraging news for Minnesota. Cook has shown plenty of flashes of promise thus far. Unfortunately, he has been a bit injury prone to start the year. As a result, the Vikings were hesitant to hand him a heavy workload.

The timing certainly could not be better. The NFL is entering the latter part of the season where most games are played in the cold. Having a strong rushing attack around this time of year can be extremely beneficial. Especially since that has not been the case for Minnesota all year long. The Vikings currently boast one of the worst ground games in the entire NFL. they currently rank 28th in the league in rushing yards per game at 91.7.

However, it is clear that DeFilippo has high hopes for Cook's return. There is a very good chance that Minnesota transitions to a more balanced attack on offense moving forward. It will be interesting to see how the young back is able to hold up healthwise.
