The Minnesota Vikings are on a roll lately, having won all of their last three games. Adding to the excitement for the team is the looming return of defensive end Everson Griffen to football activities after being out for a while to tackle a mental-health problem.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Everson will return to joining team activities on Wednesday. Although it’s not clear whether Everson will be on the field this coming Sunday in a Week 8 Sunday Night Football matchup at home with the New Orleans Saints, his expected appearance on Wednesday’s practice is going to be a good sign for his immediate availability.

It could be remembered that Griffen reportedly threatened to shoot someone at a hotel, an incident that forced him to step away from the team until his issues are resolved.

Griffen has appeared in just two games this season, missing each contest beginning in a Week 3 meeting with the Buffalo Bills at home. In those couple of games he played, Griffen managed to record 1.0 sack and six combined tackles.

Assuming that he’s back to his normal self, Griffen will provide a shot in the arm to the Vikings’ defense that’s 16th against the pass and fifth against the run in the NFL.

The 30-year-old former fourth-round pick signed a four-year deal worth $58 million with the Saints in 2017.
