Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen had himself a great Thanksgiving Day game. By the time it was all said and done on Thursday, the veteran defensive standout finished with two sacks.

Even better? He got to do this almost immediately after welcoming his child into this fine world.

“I’ve got three boys now — oh my goodness!” Griffen said, via Brian Murphy of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “Wife is healthy. My baby’s healthy.

“I’m happy to have the new addition. We’re all excited.”

Everson Griffen, who was obviously prepping for the game, witnessed the birth of his son by way of FaceTime.

What made Thursday fun for the entire Griffen clan is when the Vikings talent recorded a sack he disrobed a bit to showcase an undershirt that read: “I just had a baby boy, what should we name him?”

Dude was actually asking fans who were watching a national broadcast to help him name his brand new baby boy.

Some of his teammates got in on the fun.

Running back Latavius Murray suggested Latavius.

“Absolutely not,” Griffen replied.

A reporter mentioned Case, in honor of quarterback Case Keenum.

“Absolutely not,” Griffen said again.

What about naming his son after his head coach?

“Definitely not Mike,” coach Mike Zimmer said. “Congrats to him. He wasn’t expecting to have a baby this morning, and for him to have to be here and do the things, . . . he’s a team guy all the way.”

In my humble opinion, he should name his son Matthew. After all, he already owns one's rear in the NFL.
