One of the biggest needs for the Minnesota Vikings coming into the 2019 NFL season was offensive line, and the team addressed that in the draft by selecting North Carolina State center Garrett Bradbury with the 18th overall pick.

While he played primarily at center in college, Bradbury’s versatility may allow him to make a switch in the NFL.

Speaking to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer and general manager Rick Spielman both said via Pro Football Talk that the team has made no decision on where Bradbury will play just yet.

According to both, the option for him to switch to guard is still on the table, which would allow Pat Elflein to stay at center.

Should Bradbury become the teams starting center, that would open the door for Eflelin to switch to left guard. While Bradbury started out his career at North Carolina State as a left guard, he moved to center for the final two years of his time there.

Versatility is always important in the NFL, but for an offensive lineman, it's usually better to stay at one position due to how different each position is.

Regardless of who lines up where, the Vikings will likely be looking at both Bradbury and Elflein to make up a big chunk of their offensive line, and provide the team with some much-needed stability.

If the Vikings are to make a return to being one of the powerhouse NFC teams, they’ll need stellar play from their offensive line, and their newly drafted lineman to play to his fullest potential.
