It seems that the Minnesota Vikings have fallen victim to internet hackers. The team’s official Instagram account was hacked by a group called OurMine on Monday.

The group made a post stating the ease of hacking verified social media accounts and the importance of account security.

The Vikings certainly aren’t the first professional sports team to get their social media accounts hacked and usually, teams will have their account back under control within a few hours.

As of this writing, it appears that the Vikings Instagram is back under control of the team as the OurMine post has been deleted.

Those affected by the OurMine hacks on Monday include the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears who have had their official accounts hacked on websites like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

With nearly one million followers on Instagram, it's likely that the hacked post was seen by many before it was removed.

The OurMine Twitter account also seems to be new to the site, as the account was created just this month with the account’s first tweet being posted on January 21.

As far as actual football goes, the Vikings went 10-6 in the regular season and defeated the New Orleans Saints in the playoffs before losing to San Francisco 49ers 11-7 in the Divisional Round.

Led by breakout running back Dalvin Cook, 2019 marked the second time in the last three seasons that Minnesota reached the playoffs.
