Former NFL pass rusher Jared Allen not only wants to enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but he knows which team he would like to represent if he is ultimately selected for enshrinement. Spending time with the Kansas City Chiefs to begin his NFL playing career before capping off his tenure with both the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers, Allen notably spent the bulk of his time with the Minnesota Vikings.

“I’m a Viking, I’ll go in [to the Pro Football Hall of Fame] as a Viking,” Allen recently told KFAN. “The Vikings have my heart.”

Originally selected by the aforementioned Chiefs in the fourth round of the 1998 NFL Draft out of Idaho State, Allen spent a total of four seasons in Kansas City before moving on to Minnesota. Becoming a household name as a member of the Vikings, Allen would go on to spend six seasons in Minnesota, one-plus in Chicago and 12 games in Carolina.

“It’s not up for me to decide, but I’m 100 percent satisfied with my career,” Allen added. “My career speaks for itself. If I’m blessed to get in, that’s amazing, but that’s the voters’ decision. They’ll compare and they’ll figure out if I was worthy or not.”

Allen produced 43 sacks across his four seasons in Kansas City before going on to tally another 85.5 as a member of the Vikings, which included a single-season career-high 22 sacks in 2011-12. A force to be reckoned with throughout his career, the longtime NFL pass rusher certainly deserves to be in the conversation for Canton.
