New Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator John DeFilippo will have some interesting pieces to work with on offense this season. All eyes will obviously be on quarterback Kirk Cousins, who will have an All-Pro receiver in Adam Thielen at his disposal.

Thielen’s running mate, Stefon Diggs, is pretty good too, and DeFillippo is already a fan of the lanky wideout based on what he’s seen thus far during just three OTAs.

“More of the tape study of what I had of the Vikings was when I got here, the tape doesn’t do that justice,” DeFillippo said, via Sid Hartman of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “His ball skills are fantastic. The way he tracks the football in the air.”

Diggs had another stellar season for the Vikings. He had 64 catches for 849 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, which is double his previous best. Of course, he also had a memorable playoff game against the New Orleans Saints, where he had 137 yards and scored a dramatic walk-off touchdown as time expired.

Diggs is entering the final year of his rookie contract this season and is likely due for a big payday. The Vikings are already working on getting him that new deal, and it’s hard to blame them. He has been highly productive in each of first three seasons in the league and at 24 years of age, he has the potential to get even better.

Based on DeFilippo's comments, he likely realizes the talent he has in Diggs and should be eager to utilize his skills as often as possible with Cousins in the passing game this season.
