It is safe to assume that Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson didn't like the team's offense under Mike Zimmer during the 2021 season.

The Vikings were not the worst offensive team in the NFL in the past season, but they had their issues as their attack was rather easy to deal with. Perhaps the team's biggest problem was their third-down conversions, finishing 26th in the league in that department.

While they were decent in other areas–ranking 12th in total offense, 11th in passing yards and 17th in rushing yards–their shortcomings offensively often doomed them and led them to a rather pedestrian 8-9 record.

Now speaking to reporters as the team enter a new era with Kevin O'Connell as head coach, Jefferson is seeing the changes the Vikings need.

“We had an old-style offense last year,” Jefferson said, per Jori Epstein of USA Today. “It’s 2022. You get into a new age and move to a new generation. Adding new things to the offense allows us to be more comfortable with the offense and work in different areas of the fields.”

That is certainly a huge endorsement and vote of confidence from Justin Jefferson for Kevin O'Connell, and it's something that Vikings fans will definitely love.

As the Minnesota faithful hope to see the team play competitive football, it looks like the arrival of a new coach is already making a positive impact to the team.

Of course results matter and the Vikings have to show what they can do on the field, but everyone has to be happy to see the early returns.
