Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson suffered an injury during practice last week and was forced to miss some times after taking a hard fall. With the Vikings offense featuring Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and Dalvin Cook with Kirk Cousins tossing passes, Jefferson is all but set to replicate his fantastic rookie campaign.

The injury is a concern for the Vikings, although head coach Mike Zimmer touched on Jefferson's status on Monday, according to NFL.com.

Zimmer said Monday that injured receiver Justin Jefferson will “be back pretty quick.” Jefferson suffered an AC joint sprain in Friday's practice.

“I'm just taking care of him,” Zimmer said. “I told him not come to the stadium the other day. Everything's good.”

That certainly seems like good news for Jefferson and the Vikings, and taking care of their star is priority number one.

As far as the Vikings are concerned, they can afford to bring Jefferson along slowly, as his health for the start of the regular season is the most important. Cousins can also benefit from utilizing other receivers in practice, and get more acclimated with tight end Irv Smith who is also set to have a strong season.

For now, it seems as if the worst-case scenario was avoided with Jefferson, and one would think he makes his return to the practice field relatively quickly.
