Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins is set to play in his first season with the Minnesota Vikings after inking a three-year, $84 million deal with the team earlier this offseason.

Prior to the 2018 campaign, Cousins has taken the opportunity to share via social media the unique way that he reminds himself of his own mortality by having a tube filled with 720 rocks that he will take out one for each month that passes in his life moving forward.

This is certainly a different way for him to look at his life with some special meaning as each rock he takes out will signify to him getting older while moving closer to emptying out of the tube that should hold up if he reaches 90 years old.

The decision to go this route comes about a month away from his 30th birthday that has likely pushed him to put his life in perspective as he's entering the next NFL chapter of his career that could set the tone for how things will play out.

There is a clear strong desire for him to make a meaningful impact well beyond the football field before his time comes. This helps provide him another perspective on life that this tube of rocks will give him more motivation to do more than what's expected.

Beyond that, Cousins has a chance to compete for the Super Bowl in the 2018 campaign joining a stacked team on both sides of the ball behind a stout defense while leading the charge for a highly productive offensive unit that features several skilled positioned promising talents around him.
