Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins receives a lot of criticism for his play, but one thing that is often overlooked in his game is the deep throw. Twitter user Dustin Baker points out that Cousins has led the NFL in completions over 30 yards in the last four seasons.

Over the last four years, Cousins has 95 completions over 30 yards, which is four ahead of Russell Wilson who has 91. Matt Ryan, Phillip Rivers, and Tom Brady round out the top five.

The last few years in Minnesota, Cousins has hit many passes deep to Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. With Diggs being traded to the Bills, drafting a deep threat would make a lot of sense for the Vikings.

Cousins agreed to a two-year extension with the Vikings this offseason, and in a statement, he said he and the family love being in Minnesota:

“Julie and I are thrilled to be staying in Minnesota for the next several years,” Cousins said in a statement Tuesday. “People have embraced us and treated our family incredibly well. We also believe we are building something special at the Vikings. We know how much this team means to the fans and the state, and we want to do everything we can to help this team bring a championship home.”

The pressure is on Cousins to perform well, but the team needs to bring in more talent out wide for him. The window could be closing for the Vikings, which makes this season even more important for Cousins.
