A lot of talk surrounding the Minnesota Vikings heading into Sunday's game against the New York Giants was about Adam Thielen's comments regarding quarterback Kirk Cousins after their loss against the Chicago Bears.

Thielen made a comment about how Cousins needed to hit the deep ball because they weren't always going to have success running the ball.

After the game Cousins said one of his best friends in the league is Thielen and he thought the comments were taken out of context and the media ran with it.

“I don’t know if I’ve ever had a closer friend in the league than Adam,” Cousins said, via Peter King of NBC’s Football Morning in America. “We sit together on planes. Our families are friendly. What’s funny is the comment Adam made after the game last week is the same one he’s said to me. He thought it was unrealistic to just run it and have that be all our offense. So I had the context. But I guess it took on a life of its own.”

After struggling against the Bears, Cousins got back on track in a big way and a big reason was his connection with Thielen. Thielen hauled in seven passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns and there a couple of impressive throws that he missed against the Bears.

Cousins said he had a good feeling about the game because of the week of practice everyone had and the hope is they can repeat this game when they return home to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
