Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings went into their Monday Night Football showdown against the Seattle Seahawks looking to prove a point. They wanted to show that they were an elite team and also wanted to keep pace with the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North division race. Unfortunately, that did not end up happening, as the Vikings fell to the Seahawks by a final score of 37-30.

Following the game, the Vikings were very disappointed with the loss. Cousins spoke out about his team's loss and it was obvious that he was upset about taking the loss and dropping to 8-3 on the season.

“Well, I think we have a football team that can go on the road in a tough environment and get a win,” Cousins said in quotes distributed by the Seahawks. “I think that this was an opportunity that we missed and that’s disappointing. I think tonight we were able to at least show resilience and we’re going to need that to win in December. If you do take care of business in December, I think we have four games left if you do take care of business, then you get a chance in January, and that is really what we want to do.”

That is a very good quote from Cousins. He showed faith that the Vikings can move past this game and instilled confidence in the team's talent level. But, on the other hand, Cousins did make it clear that they need to take care of business in these big football games.

Up next for the Vikings will be a divisional matchup against the Detroit Lions. They also have a Monday Night Football date with the Packers coming up in the near future.

Minnesota is not done in the division race, but they are now a full game behind Green Bay. They also lost the first head-to-head matchup against the Packers earlier this year. Cousins and company cannot afford to drop any more games.

Expect to see the Vikings come out looking to take out their frustration on the Lions next week. Cousins knows the team must play better and he will do everything he can to make that happen.
