Kirk Cousins had one of the worst games of his career in Week 2 for the Minnesota Vikings, leading to them losing by a wide margin to the Indianapolis Colts. After his putrid performance versus the Colts, Cousins spoke about his sense of urgency to put his Week 2 outing behind him.

“I always have urgency,” the Vikings QB said, via Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “Going into Week 1, I feel it. Going into Week 2, I feel it. And certainly now going into Week 3, I feel it. The urgency doesn’t really go down, but it also probably doesn’t go up, just because you only get 16 of these opportunities. All March, April, May, I’m at my house training five, six days a week for only 16 opportunities. The urgency’s there, but we need the production to go with it.”

The veteran signal-caller, who the Vikings signed to a multi-year extension this offseason, completed only 11 of his 26 attempts for 113 yards. He would also throw three interceptions, causing him to have a career-worst 15.9 passer rating.

Above all, due to Cousins' struggles, Minnesota enters Week 3 with an 0-2 record. They desperately need a win to get them back on track. Since 1990, only 30 teams have managed to start a season 0-2 and proceed to make the playoffs.

Of course, seeing that Cousins is one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL, there's pressure for him to perform for Minnesota week-to-week. Amid the criticism that he continues to receive to begin the season, Cousins is hoping better production will begin taking place in Week 3 versus the Tennessee Titans.
