Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph could miss his team's Week 15 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday.

According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Rudolph was held out of Wednesday's practice due to an ankle injury that he suffered last week against the Carolina Panthers.

Kyle Rudolph did not practice on Wednesday because of an ankle injury that kept him out of the final handful of plays in last Sunday’s loss to the Panthers. Rudolph’s injury comes at a moment when the Vikings are short on healthy players behind him on the depth chart.

Rudolph has established himself as one of the dependable options in the passing game for the Vikings. He's currently second on the team with 53 catches for 506 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Rudolph has at least three catches in all but two games,\ and he's a huge red zone target, hauling in four touchdowns over the last three games.

Although he did sit out Wednesday's practice, he still has a couple days to recover and hopefully take the field against the Bengals. It's a pressing situation for the Vikings given that backup Blake Bell is dealing with a shoulder injury that also kept him out of Wednesday's practice. Meanwhile, David Morgan is practicing on a limited basis due to a concussion that kept him out against the Panthers.

Minnesota could turn to their practice squad and promote tight end Kyle Carter to the active roster if needed.
