The Minnesota Vikings had a very disappointing 2018 campaign, going 8-7-1 and missing the playoffs a year after winning 13 games and making it all the way to the NFC Championship Game.

A part of the problem was the relationship between quarterback Kirk Cousins and his receivers, with Cousins recently stating that he didn't think he did enough to form that bond.

Well, Cousins will get another shot in 2019, and he has a supporter in tight end Kyle Rudolph, who says the lack of chemistry was not just Cousins' fault.

“Kirk’s never played with a tight end of the body type that I have,” Rudolph said during an appearance on NFL Network. “Kirk played with smaller guys that are quicker than I am, run routes differently. We didn’t really have an offseason together last year, I was coming off ankle surgery, spent most of the spring rehabbing. Now we’ve had a full season together, a full offseason. And it’s just being on the same page. He knows that I can make catches that some of the other guys that he played with in the past couldn’t. And also I have more vertical separation than he’s used to having.”

Along with Rudolph, Cousins definitely has some weapons in the passing game, such as receivers Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen and rookie tight end Irv Smith Jr.

Perhaps all Cousins needed was a full year under his belt with this group in order to settle in and potentially accomplish big things in the future, ad Rudolph is a big piece of that puzzle.

The Vikings absolutely have the talent to make a playoff push, so we will see if everything comes to fruition for them this season.
